Travelling children’s film fest from tomorrow

Tuesday, September 13, 2011: Kerala State Chalachitra Academy is organizing the first travelling children’s film festival in the state from tomorrow.
The festival is being organized in association with the Children’s Film Society of India and the Directorate of Public Instruction, Government of Kerala, an official press release here said today.

In all, 12 films would be shown to high school students in selected schools in the 14 districts of Kerala. The films include award-winning works like ”Malli”, ”Sunday”, ”Halo”, and ”Chhota Sipahi”.
Films produced by the Children’s Film Society of India and directed by renowned directors Sivan, Santosh Sivan and Virendra Saini would also be screened.
The films would be introduced to the children before each screening and they would be encouraged to participate in discussions afterwards.
The festival would start from Thiruvananthapuram, move on to Thrissur and Kannur and cover 46 schools till October 14.
