Kerala to become India’s first ‘digital’ state: CM


Tuesday, Jun 5, 2012: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that Kerala will become the first Digital State in the country soon as part of e-governance programme.
Announcing the future development plans and major administrative reforms during the first anniversary of the Congress-led UDF Government in the State, he said official e-mail ids would be provided for all the citizens in the state based on UID Adhaar.
The facility would bring more accountability to all Government transactions, help people to submit applications to Government departments, he said. All communications with the government would be made through emails. Optical fibre broadband-4G will be made avilable to all the Panchayats in the state before December 2013, he said.
