Karayis masterminded Fasal murder: CBI

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday submitted before the Ernakulam CJM Court that the two CPM leaders, Karai Chandrasekharan and Karai Rajan, were the brain behind the murder of Fasal, an NDF activist of Thalassery.


The CBI also submitted that the custodial interrogation of the accused was absolutely essential. Magistrate P Sasidharan reserved his order on a petition filed by the CBI Investigating Officer Salim Sahib seeking 10 days’ custody of the two leaders, to Thursday.


Counsel for the two leaders submitted that  the police custody can be given only during investigation. The CBI submitted that further probe is progressing.
