Consumerfed redoubles efforts to check rising prices



THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Consumerfed announced it will start 100 new vegetable markets across the state in accordance with the government's decision to tackle soaring prices. Cooperation Minister C N Balakrishnan has instructed that the measures announced by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy after the high-level review meeting be put in place urgently, Consumerfed President Joy Thomas said. The federation has decided to open 100 new vegetable outlets with the help of cooperative societies to add to the existing 154. Cooperatives that currently operate permanent 'Neethi' stores are invited to apply to set upthe new outlets.
