Kerala High Court asks police for case diary on Chandrasekaran murder

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday directed police to produce records indicating conspiracy by two local CPI (M) leaders arrested in connection with the May 4 murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T.P. Chandrasekaran.

The direction was issued by Justice N.K. Balakrishnan during the hearing on bail petitions filed by Onchiyam area committee office-bearers CH Ashokan and KK Krishnan seeking quashing of the FIR registered against them.

Advocate General (AG) K.P. Dandapani, assured the court that the case diary would be produced by 1.45 pm on Wednesday.

The petitioners complained that there was no material in the remand report to indicate their conspiracy in the offence.

The AG said that the investigation was being done with due care.

The petitioners had submitted that they had been falsely implicated in the case allegedly following a political conspiracy by the ruling UDF. The murder was committed at the instance of an unknown businessman, whose bottling plant project had been opposed by Chandarsekharan, they stated.
