‘Ilaya Dalapathy’ fans to ‘spill’ blood for the cause

Three hundred people are expected to queue up for a mega blood donation camp in the city to celebrate actor Vijay’s birthday on Friday.

The ‘Ilaya Dalapathy’ who, with his boyish charm and stupendous dance moves has thrilled fans all over, is turning 38. As many as 300 donors will ‘spill’ their blood for the cause  at the School of Nursing near the General Hospital, according to the organisers, ‘Vijay Fans Welfare Association.’

Health Minister V S Sivakumar will inaugurate the event at 8 am.

Vijay himself will not be present as he is in London, said S H Karthik, PRO of Thameens, the agency which distributes the actor’s films here. ‘’We are told this will be the biggest such event here. The fans association was formed some four years ago, but this is the first time we are organising such a big event,’’ Karthik said.

The Kerala State AIDS Control Society, Health Department and the Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust are associating with the event, the organisers said.
