CPM protests arrest of Mohanan, alleges political vendetta
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI (M) Friday strongly protested the arrest of CPI (M) Kozhikode District Committee member P Mohanan alleging that it gave room for suspicion that it was an act of political vendetta. In a release here, the party secretariat alleged the ruling Congress-led UDF was involved in a conspiracy with the state Home Ministry to defame CPI (M) for political benefits.
The arrest of Mohanan clearly proves that it is a political revenge taken by UDF as part of the conspiracy, it said. A Special Investigating Team probing the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan arrested Mohan, who is also the husband of Kuttiadi MLA K K Lathika. He was arrested when he was on his way to party office. His arrest was based on a statement by Party's Panur area committee member P K Kunhananthan in connection with the murder.
