Law soon to regulate hotel food prices, says CM
Thursday, June 21, 2012: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Thursday said that the the government will take strong action against hotels which do not ensure fair value as well as quality of food.
Talking on the issue, Food Minister Anoop Jacob said that the government is considering to enact a law to curb the rising price of the food items in hotels in the state.
On Wednesday, High Court had asked the government to enact a law to prevent the hotels from increasing prices of food items at will. The court had observed that the pricing in the hotels is burdening the common man.
