Thachankary, Sreejith in criminals list

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 533 police officials have criminal background in Kerala, according to a report submitted in the Kerala High Court here today. The report prepared by Kerala police said 533 police officials have criminal cases filed against them.


A report was submitted to the Kerala High Court by the DGP. However, the Government is yet to take a decision on the officials. The list includes names of IG Tomin Thachankarry and DIG S Sreejith. Thiruvananthapuram tops the list with most number of cops booked under criminal cases.


Earlier, the High Court said criminals in the police force should be kept away from service.
