Two held for murder of woman

THRISSUR: Two persons were arrested in connection with the murder of a woman at her residence in Aranattukara, near here. After murdering the woman, car and gold were stolen from the house. The two arrested identified as Lijo and Sinju, natives of Wayanad, were arrested from Kozhikode. The gold stolen was recovered from them but the car has been taken outside the state.


The 50-year-old woman murdered was identified as Sheela, wife of Panakkal Gopalakrishnan. She was living with her speech-impaired sister Usha in their house. Usha was found with her hands tied together in another room in the house. Sheela's husband Gopalakrishnan and children working abroad have reached home. Their maid servant, hailing from Palakkad, was missing after the murder.
