Monsoon showers to intensify from tomorrow, yellow alert in seven districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Met Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in the state from tomorrow. The depression formed on the south-east side of the Arabian Sea could advance into a cyclone. The depression could turn severe in the next 48 hours. Yellow alert has been announced in seven southern districts. Fishermen venturing into the sea have been cautioned. Yellow alert has been announced from Thiruvananthapuram to Idukki. The weather forecast warned fishermen not to go fishing on the banks of Kanyakumari and Sri Lanka.
