Pillai who is currently admitted to private hospital here for treatment
may have to may have to spend more days in prison to compensate the
period of parole he enjoyed.
Pillai had earlier requested that the 75 day parole he enjoyed be
treated as sentence period. As per amendments made in the prisons act
2010, parole period cannot be considered as sentence period.
According to home ministry sources, Pillai will have to wait till
January 2 for release. Pillai had availed 30 days emergency parole and
another 45 days parole.
