Thursday, September 14, 2011: A documentary film narrating persistent violence in politically sensitive Nadapuram in Kozhikode district of Kerala will be released here on September 18.
Talking to newspersons, Director of the 135-documentary ”Oru Desam Neru Parayunnu,” attempted to explore the reasons behind the decades-long political rivalry.
It also enumerated the first riot in 1973 that claimed a life and developments thereafter and versions of political leaders, activists representing divergent fields, top police officials, local people and the victims, he said.
Kerala Director General of Police Jacob Punnose will release the documentary jointly produced by Poyil Kunhahammed, Moideen Mohammed (Ishana) and Cyne Nadapuram, he said.
A ‘Snehasangham’ (amity meet) participated by, among others, people’s representative from the region, including, K Muraleedharan, EK Vijayan, A Pradeep Kumar (all MLAs) and former Minister Benoy Viswom, District Collector PB Saleem, would also be held as part of the function, he said.
Social Welfare Minister MK Muneer would inaugurate the meet at Nadapuram Indoor Stadium, he added.
