Vigilance probe ordered against KCA

Tuesday, September 6, 2011: The Thrissur Vigilance Court here on Tuesday ordered a probe against the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) on a petition alleging a corruption of over Rs 2 crore by the body.
The court asked the Vigilance to file a report before December 7. The petition was filed by one of the founding members of the association, PK Jacob.

The petition says there was fraud amounting to Rs 1.17 crore in the ticket sales in the sale of tickets for the India-Australia one-day international match in 2007. The petitioner also says there was loss of Rs 1.15 crore in the floodlighting deal for the stadium as the deal was given without inviting tenders.
In the list of accused persons is KCA secretary T.C. Mathew, President TR Balakrishnan, Treasurer G Sajikumar and assistant secretary TN Ananthanarayanan.
