Mullaperiyar: Joseph condemns Ashwani Kumar’s remarks

Sunday, 15 January 2012:Water Resources Minister P J Joseph today condemned the reported remarks of Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Planning Ashwani Kumar that the 116-year-old Mullaperiyar dam was safe.
Reacting to the statements, he said that as a responsible minister he should not make such a statement on the issue, as many experts in the field were studying about the safety of the century-old dam. Joseph demanded that the intervention of Defense Minister AK Antony in the Mullaperiyar dam issue.
