Cylinder blast cases: HC notice to government

The Kerala High Court on Wednesday issued notices to the state and  the petroleum companies on a suo motu case on the recent gas cylinder blast cases in the state.

A Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice A M Shaffique passed the order after the court received an anonymous letter alleging foul play by the petroleum companies in the cylinder blast cases.

The letter alleged that there are many defects in the cylinders and most of them are going unchecked.

The petroleum companies are also using duplicate cylinders for the purpose, the letter said.
