Jayarajan again lands into controversy

KANNUR: CPI (M) District Secretary P Jayarajan, who was remanded in Kannur Central Jail in connection with the murder of Abdul Shukkoor since August 1, landed in controversy as he used the party vehicle to visit Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for treatment. According to police, they started the enquiry under the A R Camp Deputy Commandant V K Nizar about the use of party vehicle by Jayarajan. If anything illegal was detected, action would be taken against the policemen who escorted Jayarajan.

Jayarajan was taken to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for expert treatment from Kannur Central Jail in the police vehicle. But Jayarajan used the party vehicle from Koilandy in Kozhikode. The party workers claimed the police vehicle developed some technical fault and hence he used the private vehicle. He later underwent medical check-up in ENT and Cardiology Department and reached Kannur in a taxi from Kozhikode. The district hospital had referred Jayarajan to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital after he was diagnosed with hearing problem during medical examination on August 6.
