New charges imposed on M M Mani

NEW DELHI: The state government informed the Supreme Court that fresh charges have been imposed against M M Mani, CPM Idukki former district secretary, in connection with his controversial speech in Manakkad.

The affidavit filed in the court stated that he had been charged for threatening the police and encouraging people to commit crimes.

Mani had been earlier booked for conspiracy, murder etc. A case has been registered against him for having claimed that there had been instances of the party eliminating its foes.
