Vigilance raid at drugs controller offices
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted raids, termed as Operation Tablet, at various drugs controller officers in the state on Friday and found out many irregularities in its dealings.
The vigilance found that poor quality drugs are being distributed to various health centres including hospitals. The raids also revealed that drug inspectors accept bribes for renewing licenses to medical stores and drug depots.
The quality tests on drugs were also not conducted timely in order to create an ‘opportunity’ to sell poor quality medicines through medical stores. The vigilance also seized an amount of Rs 11000 from a drugs controller.
