THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government Wednesday said polls to local bodies can be conducted either on November 23rd or 25th. The government will inform this to the court through an affidavit when the case is considered on September 3. The decision was taken after talks were held between the chief minister, ministers and the chief secretary.
If the polls are held on Nov 23rd Monday or 25th Wednesday, then votes can be counted on the remaining days and by December 1st, the new administration can assume office. The government said before informing the court their stand they will inform the election commission.
The government will also inform the court that financial aid from centre is falling as number of corporations are not rising. The government had lost centre’s financial aid of Rs 2000 crore last year.
