Youth arrested for 'abusing' nine-yr old girl

KOLLAM: Kottiyam police have arrested the youth who had “sexually abused” a nine-year-old girl, who is also his cousin.

The arrested person has been Ansar (29) a native of Thazhuthala Perayam.

The police version is: When Ansar went to the fourth standard student’s house, her parents were not there but two other boys were there. Ansar sent them with money to buy SIM cards and harassed the girl, taking advantage of the situation.  

Ansar also threatened the girl that he would kill her if she revealed to anyone what he had done to her. The girl who reached the school the next day started behaving in an abnormal manner. Her teacher who grew suspicious of her behaviour, prompted her to speak out her problem, following which she spilled the beans. 

The teacher soon called her parents to the school and informed them about the incident. The parents later lodged a complaint with the police and the girl was admitted to the District hospital for medical test. In the inquiry that followed under Kottiyam SI Fayaz, Ansar was arrested.
