ALAPPUZHA: JSS general secretary K R Gowri Amma left her wish to return back to the CPM after 21 years she was expelled from the party. The decision not to merge with the CPM was taken at the state centre meet convened by Gowri Amma at Chathanad on Sunday.
She was forced to withdraw from the decision of merger following the dispute over the ownership right of the party office. Meantime, she told reporters that she will join hands with the CPM from within the JSS.
She decided to merge with the CPM after party state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishan held talks with her on July 18 at her residence. They decided to merge on P Krishna Pillai day on August 19. This meet has been postponed, informed Gowri Amma. When she held talks with Kodiyeri, she did not think about the property. The dispute on the property had caused hardships to CPM.
Meantime, soon after the decision of the JSS, CPM politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan called on her. However, he was not willing to talk to the media.
JSS state president advocate A N Raju was against the merger.
K R Gowri Amma distanced from the UDF after she was defeated by advocate A M Arif of the CPM in the 2006 assembly polls. She had won continuously from Arur six times. After her defeat to P Thilothaman of the CPI at Cherthala in 2011, she completely isolated from the UDF.
