THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will meet Union Minister for Urban Development Venkiah Naidu seeking sanction for Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram Light Metro Rail Projects. Chief Minister along with Public Works Minister V K Ibrahim Kunju will go to Delhi for it.
Briefing reporters after the weekly cabinet meet, Chandy said the government would go ahead with land acquisition process for the proposed project. Further steps would be taken after getting sanction from the centre. The same steps taken for Kochi Metro will be followed here also. Further steps for Kochi Metro were taken after getting sanction from the centre. Changes will have to be made as per the condition suggested by the center.
DMRC looked after the things in connection with the light metro so far and so they will not be kept away from the project, he said.
