CPM may have to back congress, says Chandrachoodan

KOLLAM: A time will come for the CPM and other left parties to support the congress, said RSP general secretary Prof T J Chandrachoodan.Talking at the RSP state meet in Kollam, he said the Left has no other way than to cooperate with the congress in order to fight communal forces.

In the national level, parties including the CPM have joined hands with the congress earlier. The RSP had to end the 35 year alliance with the LDF as we did not have any other way. The congress should make some changes in their policies, he said and added that they will not leave the UDF.

The organisational report of the party criticised CPM politburo member and former secretary Pinarayi Vijayan. The reason for many parties leaving the LDF is the arrogant approach of Pinarayi. The report says that if this continues, the party will be wiped out. The report also stated that the CPM tried to split parties excluding the CPI.
