THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The locals handed over one of the main accused in the murder case of A C Haneefa, a congress activist in Chavakkad, to the police. The main accused identified as Anzar was nabbed from his own house in Puthenkadappuram. The police was in search of him for the past five days. Afzal and Shameer were nabbed earlier.
Meantime, Chavakkad circle inspector Abdul Muneer, a member of the special investigating team in the murder case, has been transferred. The family of Haneefa had requested to remove him from the team. Guruvayur circle inspector K Sudarshan has also been transferred.
Following group squabbles, a seven member team stabbed Haneefa (42), an ‘A’ group activist, to death in front of his house on August 7. Haneefa was with his mother at the time of the incident.
