Thiruvananthapuram: A consulate of UAE would soon get operational in Kerala. The decision was taken in a meeting between Oommen Chandy, CM and Ambassador for UAE in India. The CM informed a decision on the location to establish the consulate would be taken later. The government intends to ensure the function of the consulate at the earliest. The cousulate would be functional within a year.The government had earlier submitted a letter requesting the setting up of the consulate general office. PK Kunhalikutty, KC Joseph (ministers) and Yousuf Ali, industrialist participated in the meeting besides the CM.
