Robbery to fund terror

Probe into Coimbatore bomb blast case has revealed that the funds for planting the bomb came from the Kizhakkambalam jewellery theft.

“K P Sabir, suspected to be in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), was leading the terror activities of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in South India. Sabir has been collecting funds for jehadi activities since 2001. It was he who sent Nazeer to get weapon training in Kashmir and other secret hideouts. Sabir chose religious persons like  Nazeer so that more youngsters could join the group. The funds from the robbery were diverted to purchase the explosives for planting bomb in Coimbatore,” Biju K Stephan said.

The CB on Wednesday conducted the identification parade of the accused persons before the auto driver who transported the accused  from Kalamassery HMT Junction to Aluva. The auto driver identified Nazeer, Shabeer and Ismail. On Thursday Nazeer will be taken to Kizhakkambalam for collecting evidence. Meanwhile, the Intelligence wing of the Andhra Pradesh Police reached Kochi and interrogated  Nazeer. It’s suspected that Nazeer was behind the blast in Hyderabad.
