Lakhs of students had taken the examination at different centres across the country on May 20 this year.
The result carrying roll numbers of the successful candidates has been put up on the UPSC website http://www.upsc.gov.in/
The result of roll no. 253465 has been withheld, a release from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.
"The candidates who have been declared successful have to first get themselves registered on the relevant page of the (UPSC) website before filling up the online Detailed Application Form.
"All the qualified candidates are advised to fill up the DAF and submit it online for admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2012 to be held from October 5, 2012," a release from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.
The DAF will be available on the website of the Commission from August 1, 2012 till 11.59 pm on August 21, 2012.
The successful candidates, after submitting the DAF duly filled online, are required to take a print out and need to send it duly signed along with all relevant documents to the UPSC before August 27, 2012.

The candidates can also obtain information on all working days from the facilitation counter near the Examination Hall Building inside UPSC campus.
