Aided status to 35 schools to create financial liability
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister PK Abdu Rabb Sunday said the cabinet will look into a report by the Finance Department that aided status to 35 schools will cause a financial liability of Rs one crore to the state government.
The Finance Department has submitted a report in this regard to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, suggesting that aided status should not be given to 35 schools in Malabar.
The aided status would cause Rs one crore liability to the government, the report said. Reacting to the report by the Finance Department, the Minister said the report would be discussed in the Cabinet. Earlier, Opposition parties also alleged that the Education Minister had sabotaged the Cabinet decision.
