Game of survival: adivasis on hunger strike in jails
KANNUR: The adivasis arrested for the land strike in Wayanad has started hunger strike.
530 tribal persons, including women and children, are in jails in Kannur and Wayanad.
They demand the release of those held in jails and resolution of the land strike.
The hilly Wayanad district has the largest concentration of tribal population in the state.
The land rights agitation of the tribals had been going on for quite long demanding retrieval of stretches of tribal land and its distribution to landless tribal families.
