MANIPAL: A medical student from Kerala was gang raped in Manipal late on Thursday night.
The girl has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Kasturba Hospital and is in a state of shock. The girl is a fourth year student of the Kasturba Hospital.
The girl was gang raped by an auto driver and his associates after she boarded the vehicle to reach her residence last night outside the university campus.
She was later left near her residence in an auto. Her roommates alerted the university administration and she was rushed to the hospital. The hospital authorities then informed the police, said Superintendent of Police M B Boralingaiah.
According to the police, the girl is not yet in a position to make a statement on the incident but her condition is stated to be satisfactory.
