Aruvikkara victory a hint at continuation of governance: Oommen Chandy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said the UDF had a sparkling victory in Aruvikkara and it hinted at the UDF’s continuation of governance in Kerala. With this, the people have entrusted the government with a great responsibility.

“At a press conference here on Tuesday, the chief minister said the result was the evaluation of the government. If there were anti-government waves, Parliament election results would have been a different thing. The government will move forward, fulfilling the wishes of the people. The victory was the real respect paid to G Karthikeyan by people. The UDF fought the election unitedly. Not even at one point of time did the situation degraded to the level of ministers disapproving of the chief minister.”

“The CPM should learn lessons from this defeat. The election outcome also proves that all allegations raised by the LDF against the government were fake. If they don’t change their age-old style of functioning, they may again receive blows. They can’t  fool the people of Kerala anymore,” Chandy said.
