Solar case: Jail register found tampered with

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Shivarajan Commission has detected something fraudulent about solar case.

The Commssion was surprised to see the jail register submitted to it by Attakkulangara women's jail superintendent Nazeera Beevi had corrected and tampered contents inside. Some of the names of the visitors of solar scam accused Saritha S Nair are not entered, some people's names are struck with whitener and some pages are even torn out.

Commission Chairman Justice Sivarajan orally pointed out the seriousness of the anomalies in the entries in the register. Though she didn’t give proper answer to the Commission's questions, she said the register was re-stitched and rebounded.

The commission also found out that Saritha S Nair was allowed to have visitors also at times other than the permitted timings.

The page next to the page with details of the visitor she had before her controversial changing of statements had been torn off.

Nazeera Beevi also gave the statement that Saritha's cousin Adarsh visited her without furnishing the required documents.

Saritha had been in the jail from July 27, 2013 to February 21, 2014.
