KOZHIKODE: The police Monday arrested Aji Kumar, fire and safety supervisor, in connection with the firing at the Karipur Airport. The Kondotty police arrested him from the hospital in Kozhikode where he was undergoing treatment. He is the first fire force official arrested in connection with the incident.
A decision has been taken to shift Sunny Joseph, senior superintendent of fire force, injured during the clash, to Kozhikode medical college hospital for better treatment.
The incident happened last Wednesday. The clash started when the CISF tried to check him when he tried to enter the airport.
In the meanwhile, the Manjeri Court remanded four CISF jawans arrested in connection with the incident for 14 days.
