In development, UDF govt will get A+: Antony

ARUVIKKARA: AICC working committee member A K Antony has said in the case development, the government which would get A+ is Kerala’s UDF government.  “Chandy’s is a government with human face,” he was speaking after inaugurating the UDF election convention held in connection with Aruvikkara by-election.

“In the matter of development, other state governments have not been able to compete with Chandy government. His is a government for the poor and the youth. The government has implemented several people-friendly projects,” he said.

“Severely criticising the Left, Antony said CPM is averse to development. In the new age, the CPM has lost its importance. The party is 25 years back even now and they move about without realising that Kerala has changed. The State doesn’t need politics of protest or violence. The government’s policy is Kerala’s progress,” Antony explained.

Antony also didn’t spare the BJP government under Narendra Modi. “The Modi government which ruled the country for the last year has put the people into inconvenience. When the crude oil price decreased in the international market, Modi harassed people by increasing the price of the diesel and petrol.   Modi’s rule has only benefitted business tycoons. The Central government’s wrong policies have resulted in the price rice,” the former minister alleged.

Antony, in his address, also did a bit of campaigning for Aruvikkara UDF candidate by asking the public to vote for Sabarinathan, remembering the smiling face of his father G Karthikeyan, when they would go to polling booths on June 27.
