Don’t write off CPM in the light of Aruvikkara poll result: Kodiyeri

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said that the victory of the UDF in Aruvikkara was the one achieved through the misuse of official power and frittering away of public money.  “Different kinds of undercurrents were created among the people. Sentiments were created based on caste and creed. This is a dangerous phenomenon,” he said.

“The CPM is not a party that should be written off just because it failed in an election. The party will study the poll result in detail.  The increase in BJP votes shows that communal polarisation is happening in the UDF rule. This is a warning and the people of Kerala should be alert about this,” Kodiyeri added.
