School textbook printing: Lokayukta orders inquiry by ADGP

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Lokayukta division bench has ordered ADGP B Sandhya to conduct primary inquiry into the allegations that there were corruption and irregularities behind the delay in printing school textbooks.

Justices Pius C Kuriakose and K P Balachandran have asked for the inquiry report within one month.

The petition in this case was filed by  Payichara Navaz, alleging that the government had given the work order to an external party after deliberately delaying the decision to give the work order to KBPS, which was formed to carry out the printing job.

The petition also alleged that there was irregularity in the manner in which the Education department rejected the offer made by Consumerfed to print the texts at the same rate agreed upon by the KBPS.
