THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: One of the bodies of the five drowned at the light house beach in Kovalam was recovered Wednesday. The body has been identified as that of Akhil P Jayan, son of Jayan of Statue, TC 26/1698, Krishnapriya. The body was recovered from Mandacaud seashore near Nagercoil. The Tamil Nadu police informed that another body was also found. Police said they need the help of navy to bring the body ashore.
Anoop Giri (21) of Varkala, Akhil P Jayan (21), Jithin G Karmal (21) and Nidhin Raj (20) and basketball coach identified as Abhishek drowned last Saturday. Abhishek drowned while trying to save the boys. The body of Anoop was recovered the next day.
Akhil is a second year MBBS student in Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
