KOTTAYAM: Exams should be exempted from hartals, said M G University vice chancellor Dr Babu Sebastian. He had given a letter to political parties requesting it. Usually milk, newspaper and hospitals are exempted from hartals and exams should also be exempted from it.
Exams are fixed earlier. It is difficult to postpone exams when hartals are announced. It is not practical to postpone exams after completing all arrangements. With the announcement of hartals, the exam calendar will itself change. Due to hartals, courses get delayed and the chances for further studies of students are also affected.
