KOZHIKODE: A 29-year-old-youth was sentenced to life for murdering a woman at Thalayatt in the district. The youth after murdering the woman stole her ornaments. The Kozhikode Marad special additional sessions court judge S Krishna Kumar awarded life sentence to Naveen Baidyanath, native of Krishna Nagar in Maharashtra and a hotel employee. A fine of Rs 40,000 has been imposed on him.
The incident happened on July 3 in 2013. The case is that he barged into the house of the woman identified as Leela (45) of Balusseri and then murdered her. The court said offences like murder, trespassing the house of the woman, theft etc. has been proved against the accused.
