NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court Saturday said Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) cannot be exempted from the collection of toll at Paliyekkara in Thrissur. A division bench led by Chief Justice H L Dattu rejected KSRTC plea seeking exemption from the toll collection.
KSRTC’s plea said that as they are a public transportation facility it should be exempted from the toll. However, the court clarified that they cannot exempt KSRTC alone. The court directed them to reach an agreement with the contractors in connection with the toll fare.
