DGP to give letter to Rishiraj Singh

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DGP T P Senkumar will give a letter to ADGP Rishiraj Singh, who refused to salute Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala. The letter will ask him to correct on his own if there are any mistakes in not saluting the home minister.

In the meanwhile, Rishiraj Singh spoke to the minister via phone. It is heard that Singh told the minister that it was not a deliberate act and that the media is creating an unnecessary controversy.

DGP T P Senkumar, who described Singh as a disciplined officer, told reporters here that if the officer had deliberately failed to salute the minister, then that was not right. If it was an oversight, that needs to be corrected. On seeing a minister, it is the duty of a police officer to salute him. Do we address someone as 'sir' as per his rank?," he asked.

In the meanwhile, senior congress leader Pandalam Sudhakaran came forward criticizing Singh. He asked the society to react against Singh for insulting the state’s home minister.
