Driver jumps out of running bus, loses control hits lorry

KOCHI: A driver jumped out of a running bus and ran away fearing that his vehicle would hit a lorry which is in the front. The bus hit the lorry which was halted and injured many including women. The incident happened Wednesday morning at the University Junction on the national highway in Kalamassery. The 13 injured have been admitted at the KIMS Hospital. The condition of two is stated to be serious.


The bus involved in the accident is Ansha Mol running in Aluva-Ernakulam route. The bus driver saw the lorry when it was overtaking another vehicle. Passengers said instead of bringing the vehicle under control, he jumped out of the bus. Those sitting in the front are the mostly injured.
