Jamaludeen killed in Dubai was active in social activities, say relatives

THRISSUR: Jamaludeen of Thrissur, killed in Dubai tourist bus accident was very active in social activities, said his relatives and friends. He worked as an accountant and returned to Dubai two weeks back after a two-day leave.

Jamaludeen, a resident of Thalikkulam was a staunch loyalist of the CPM and was a former panchayat member. Jamaludeen, son of late Muhammed of Arakka Veettil abd Nafeesa, had been in Dubai for 23 years. He leaves behind his wife Sulaika and children Suhana and Shafiya.

Six Keralites including Jamaludeen were killed in the accident. Ten Indians are among the 17 killed in the accident. Only four Keralites were identified so far. Apart from Jamaludeen, Deepak Kumar of Thiruvananthapuram, Vasudevan and Thilakan are the other Keralites killed.

The bus which met with the accident was coming to Dubai from Muscat. The bus with Oman number plate crashed into a signboard at Al Rashidiya exit. The incident happened Thursday evening at 5.40 pm at Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road. Reports say those in the bus from Oman was returning after celebrating Eid. The injured have been admitted at Rashid Hospital.
