NEW DELHI: While a feud is still brewing in some disputed seats in the congress, the central screening committee convened here Saturday has taken a final decision in some of the seats. Satheeshan Pacheni will be fielded in A P Abdullakutty’s sitting seat Kannur and the latter in turn will contest from Thalassery.
Abdullakutty will face A N Shamseer of the CPM in Thalassery. Pacheni will face Kadannapally Ramachandran of Congress (S) in Kannur. A decision has been taken to field Mahila Congress state president Bindu Krishna opposite Mukesh in Kollam. Shanimol Usman will seek mandate from Ambalapuzha.
Other consensus candidates are--Rajmohan Unnithan (Kundara), C R Mahesh (Karunagapally), Shooranad Rajashekaran (Chathanur), Reshmi R Nair (Kottarakkara). A decision was taken on 70 seats the other day.
However, a stalemate continues in the Irikkur, Thripunithura, Thrikkara and Konni seats. There are some differences of opinion between Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and KPCC chief V M Sudheeran on these three seats. The high command is trying to take a final decision on the candidates. Meantime, Sudheeran had directed Satheesan Pacheni in Irikkur instead of Minister K C Joseph.
