THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The two accused in the Attingal twin murder case that shocked the conscience of the State two years ago have been found guilty by District Principal Sessions Court judge V Shercy.
Techno park employees Nino Mathew (40) and Anu Shanthi (32) were found guilty in the case in which Alamkodu Mannur Thushar resident Omana (57) and her granddaughter Swasthika (Anushanthi’s daughter) were murdered and an attempt was made to murder Anushanthi’s husband Lijesh.
The quantum of punishment will be announced on Monday.
The murder happened on April 16, 2014. According to the prosecution, Anushanthi had connived with his paramour Nino to kill her mother-in-law and daughter. Kulathur resident Nino Mathew was the project manager of Fincher Company in the Technopark. Anushanthi was the team leader in the same company. The extramarital affair between Anushanthi and Nino had led to the murder.
In the case investigated by former Attingal CI Anil Kumar and DySP Prathapan Nair, District government pleader and prominent advocate V S Vineeth Kumar is the public prosecutor.
Vineeth was the public prosecutor in Varkala Salim murder case and Harihara Varma murder case. He submitted statements of 49 witnesses including Lijesh Kumar, 41 material evidence and 85 case-related documents to the court.
