If Sukesan is guilty why is he allowed to continue in his job: HC

KOCHI: The high has asked a witty question why Vigilance SP R Sukesan is allowed to continue in his job if he is  found to have conspired with Bar owner Biju Ramesh in the bar bribery case.

The court has asked the government not to allow officials to continue in their posts, if they are found to be  guilty. Justice P D Rajan made this observation in the petition filed by former Finance Minister K M Mani, seeking the court to stall the proceedings in the Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance court in the bar bribery case.

Mani had pleaded in the high court that the Crime Branch was conducting probe against Sukesan and till the probe report was out the court may stall the proceedings in the Vigilance court in bar bribery case.

The court which took up the case today morning asked the government to clarify its stand on the above cases. The single bench also enquired about the status of the case against Sukesan. The government will also be explaining the details tomorrow when the case will be considered again.
