14 new cases of H1N1 reported



THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Fourteen new cases of swine flu have been reported in Kerala, taking the total to 475 since January this year. According to a release of the State H1N1 Control room, Kozhikode topped the list with 144 cases as six more people tested positive for swine flu. Malappuram reported three more cases, followed by Thrissur- two and Kasaragod, Alappuzha and Thiruvananthapuram- one each. In Malappuram, 81 cases were reported this year. The other worst-hit districts were Thrissur (59 cases), Kannur (56 cases) and Kasaragode(44 cases). Official sources said the Health Department had stepped up measures to detect and treat the patients suffering from the disease.
