Cancellation of Kochi-Sharjah flight sparks protest

Wednesday, July 18, 2012: The Kochi-Sharjah flight from Nedumbassery, which was to take off at 10.05 am on Wednesday, was cancelled without giving any notice and the passengers were put into hardship. When the passengers protested against this, airline officials shifted them to a hotel. The reason cited by the AI officials was that the pilots had not reached on time.

Officials intimated the cancellation of the flight at around 10 in the morning. The passengers were infact ready to board the flight by getting the boarding pass too. The arrival of the pilot from Thiruvananthapuram was delayed as his flight experienced technical snag due to bird hit.

30 passengers will be accomodated in the evening flight to Sharjah while the fate of the rest of passengers is still uncertain.
