Further action after chargesheet, says TP’s wife

As speculations are high that the Special Investigation Team(SIT) has slowed down the probe into the conspiracy behind the murder of T P Chandrasekharan, the RMP leader’s family has decided to take further step only after the filing of the chargesheet in the case.

K K Rama, wife of Chandrasekharan, told media that there was no official intimation regarding the current status of the investigation. “We have already expressed our satisfaction on the ongoing probe and would demand a CBI probe or investigation by other agencies after the submission of the chargesheet, only if necessary,” she added.

Left Coordination Committee general secretary K S Hariharan also expressed the same view that they also would think about further steps only after considering the gravity of the chargesheet to be filed by the SIT.

“There are more possibilities for political pressure to wind up the case as it is a very sensitive one. The advices from various sides to us also state to wait till the chargesheet is filed. If things are not going in the right direction, we will demand a CBI probe,” said Hariharan. Earlier, there were unconfirmed reports that the case had been wound up owing to the political pressure.

A meeting of the SIT probing the murder held in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday decided to submit the chargesheet before August 15. The investigators have already established that there was a larger conspiracy by the CPM top leaders behind the killing of Chandrasekharan on May 4 at Orkattery near Onchiyam.

In the T P murder case, the first arrest was recorded on May 15. As of now, more than 75 persons have been arrested on various charges in the last two months.
